What bundle apps actually cost at your volume

Most Shopify bundle apps advertise a low entry price and meter your bundle revenue: the advertised number only applies below a monthly cap, and a strong sales month moves you up a tier. This page computes the real monthly bill for eight bundle apps at $1,000, $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000 per month in bundle revenue, from each app's published tiers, next to Solid Bundles' flat $29. Why is the advertised price not what you will pay?

Because most bundle apps price by usage, not by features. The number on the App Store listing is the entry tier, and the entry tier has a revenue cap: Fast Bundle's $19 tier capped at $1,000 per month in bundle revenue, FoxSell's free tier ends at $1,000 in bundle sales, Revy's $9.99 tier ends at $1,000. Sell more than the cap and the app bills the next tier. None of this is hidden, but it is spread across tier tables, so the honest comparison is not "which listing shows the lowest price" but "what does each app bill at my volume". That is the table below.

Each cell is computed from the app's published tiers: find the column closest to your monthly bundle revenue and read down. Two apps need footnotes because their pricing is not based on gross bundle revenue at all, and two apps are currently not installable.

Its published tiers: $14.99 to $1,000, $29.99 to $5,000, $59.99 with a listed cap of $10,000, and Flex billing that scales up to $299 above $50,000 in additional revenue.

When is metered pricing cheaper than a flat $29?

Below roughly $1,000 per month in bundle revenue, metered pricing is cheaper than $29, and we will not pretend otherwise. At that volume FoxSell is free, Revy is $9.99, Kaching is $14.99, Bundler is free to $12.99, and Fast Bundle was $19. If your bundles do a few hundred dollars a month and you expect that to stay flat, a metered app is the rational choice on price alone. The picture inverts as volume grows: at $5,000 per month FoxSell bills $49 and Fast Bundle billed $139; at $10,000 FoxSell bills $149; at $25,000 FoxSell bills $249 and Fast Bundle billed $299. A flat-priced app bills the same at every row of that table, which means the thing metered pricing effectively charges you for is growth.

What happens when you hit a revenue cap mid-month?

It depends on the app, and it is worth knowing before your first strong month rather than during it. Some metered apps deactivate bundles mid-month when the cap is hit, which means the outage lands exactly when sales are best. Kaching Bundles documents this behavior openly: stores receive warning emails at 80 percent of their tier limit, and bundles are temporarily deactivated when the limit is reached, until the store upgrades or the billing cycle resets. That is a reasonable design for a metered product, and Kaching is transparent about it. But if bundle offers going dark during a spike would cost you real revenue, the cap behavior of your app matters as much as its price.

How is Solid Bundles priced?

Solid Bundles costs a flat $29 per month, with a 14-day free trial. There are no revenue caps, no order limits, and no tiers, so your bill at $25,000 per month in bundle revenue is the same as at $1,000: $29. Nothing deactivates mid-month, because there is no meter to trip. As the table shows, that makes it more expensive than metered apps for small stores and cheaper than most of them from roughly $5,000 per month upward.
